Abstract:
The present paper contains descriptions of four new genera, thirty-seven new species, one new subspecies from the Neotropical Region. Moreover, some new combinations for and comments on known species are given. The new species are from the Canadian National Collection, Ottawa, Ont., the United States National Museum, Washington, D. C.; the British Museum (Nat. Hist.), London, England; the American Museum of Natural History, New York, N. Y., and Cornell University, Ithaca, N. Y. My recent study of the types of the Neotropical Crambinae contained in the collection of the United States National Museum has clarified many obscure problems in the taxonomy of the group. Further information on this subject will be published in forthcoming papers.
