Abstract:
The paper presents the present-day state of knowledge on the Pliocene and Quaternary insectivore fauna of Poland. The names of fossil taxa found in Poland, taxa first described from the Polish territory, names of the Polish localities in which insectivores have been found, with lists of forms in each of them and, lastly, the history of the Polish insectivore fauna from the Early Pliocene to the Holocene are given. A short paleoecological interpretation of the shrew (Soricidae) associations of the Pliocene and Lower Pleistocene in Poland is also presented.
