Abstract:

A total of 84 bird taxa were identified. They come from Zwerglloch (68 taxa), Bärenhöhle (10), Hohlensteinhöhle (4), Knochenöhle (5), and Grosse Offenbergerhöhle (25). They all represent recent bird species, and most of them belong to the today breeding fauna of Austria. 27 taxa were found in the Austrian Pleistocene/Holocene cave deposits for the first time.
