Abstract:

Three new species of the genus Sorex are described from the Pliocene of Poland: S. casimiri n. sp., S. pseudoalpinus n. sp. and S. polonicus n. sp. Fifteen further species of the genus Sorex have been noted in 18 Pliocene and Pleistocene localities. One species of the genus Neomys and one of Macroneomys have also been found. One mandibular fragment of Paenelimnoecus is described. Additionally, 8 more forms of indeterminate Soricidae were represented in the material studied. The systematic position of the above-mentioned taxa, their measurements and illustrations are given.
