Pleistocene snow voles (Chionomys Miller, 1908) (Rodentia, Mammalia) from Northern Caucasus (USSR)

Abstract:

Pleistocene remains of Chionomys from Paleolithic cave sites of Northern Caucasus are described. Ch. gud and Ch. roberti are present in the region at least from the beginning of Middle Pleistocene while Ch. nivalis seems not to appear before Early/Middle Weichselian boundary.
