Paracladurinae - new subfamily (Diptera, Trichoceridae)

Abstract:

The genus Paracladura BRUNETTI is raised to a subfamily rank within the family Trichoceridae on basis of the morphological features (wing, tarsus, pleurytes, and female genitalia) that separate this group from other members of the family. The species are divided into two groups according to the wing features and Australian Region appearsto be a probable genetic centre of the subfamily.
