Abstract:

Identified bird remains from Komarowa Cave consist of 1872 skeletal fragments of at least 106 taxa. They come from sediments accumulated between the Early Glacial and Holocene, and represent various habitats of all European climatic zones. The most interesting are the fairly numerous bones of the Alpine Swift indicating the presence of a breeding colony far from its recent breeding range. Ten bird taxa are new for the Polish Pleistocene avifauna.
