Abstract:
14 boric fragments of 3 fossil phasianids were found in 5 localities of Moldavia and South Ukraine in the sixties. 4 localities (Etulya, Kotlovina, Chishmikioy and Lucheshty) are dated back to Moldavian Roussillon, the lower part of the Upper Pliocene, correlated with Astian of Western Europe; the 5th locality Voinichevo, is a little older. The majority of remnants belong to Plioperdix ponticus (Tugarinov, 1940). The other two pieces are described as Pavo moldavicus sp. n. and Phasianus etuliensis sp. n.
