Abstract:
This paper contains a description of two new species of tortoises, Ocadia turgaica n. sp. (Batagurinae) and Chrysemys lavrovi n. sp. (Emydinae), from the Oligocene layers — rich in fossil Vertebrates — of the Turgay Basin in Kazakhstan. A discussion of the systematic position of these forms and of the Asiatic members of the genus Chrysemys Gray, 1844, is also given.
