The Salivary Pump in the Taxonomy of the Coccinea (Homoptera)

Abstract:

The cuticular skeleton of the salivary pump, including salivary ducts, is described in major groups of Coccinea. The evolution of the pump and its significance in the taxonomy of the scale insects are discussed.
