Studies on the genus Abgrallaspis Balachowsky, 1948 (Homoptera, Coccoidea, Diaspididae)
Abstract:
In the work the definition of the studied genus is formulated and the differences between the genus Abgrallaspis Balach., and some closely related genera: Hemiberlesia Ckll., Diaspidiotus Leon., Borchseniaspis Zahr., Ephedraspis Borchs., and Aspidiella Leon. are given. It is suggested that the genus closest to Abgrallaspis Balach., is Diaspidiotus Leon. Some conclusions are drawn as to the degree of specialization of the genus Abgrallaspis Balach. in relation to the others genera mentioned above. As a result of the revisionary studies 8 new combinations were made and 17 species assigned to the studied genus. Drawings were made for 15 species.
