Abstract:
The Pleistocene bird record is one of the most important records of vertebrate fossils in México, and thus far includes already 10% of the bird species currently recorded in the country. This paper provides an initial appraisal of the fossil record on Mexican Pleistocene birds based on a summary of all the known sources published from the 19th century until today. In addition, a list of the identified species is presented and a brief discussion to highlight the importance of some localities and regions.
