A Fossil Swan from the Maykopian Series of Azerbaydzhan

Abstract:

The present paper deals with a new genus, and species of swans, Guguschia nailiae gen. et sp. nova, from the Oligocene deposits of Azerbaydzhan. Its description is based on the bones of the left half of the shoulder girdle and the proximal part of the wing.
